Both Salehoo and Worldwide Brands are popular and successful wholesaler / drop shipper directories and they both offer a guarantee that all of their suppliers are reliable, but which is the best value for money in 2018?
Worldwide Brands is the original directory – founded by an eBay 'Power Seller' in Florida in 1999, it has the strongest links with the popular online marketplace, being the only directory that's fully certified by eBay and by far the largest in terms of products. Worldwide Brands lists about 8,600 suppliers and more than sixteen million wholesale products, the largest of any directory by far.
Salehoo, by comparison, has a similar number of wholesalers and drop-shippers, but significantly fewer products – only about 1-2 million at any one time.
Both Salehoo and Worldwide Brands check all of their suppliers before listing them. Salehoo's team refer to this process as "screening" and Worldwide Brands as "certification" but it's the same thing in practice – all of the suppliers in both directories are legitimate and guaranteed to be reliable to buy from.
The cost of joining Salehoo and Worldwide Brands varies a lot though – while Salehoo costs only $67, Worldwide Brands costs nearly $300. However, Salehoo's $67 is an annual fee while Worldwide Brands is a one off membership fee, so in the long term Salehoo works out to be more expensive – but only if you remain a member for 5 or more years.
Which offers the best value for money though? Well, although Worldwide Brands is more expensive at first, in the long term it's cheaper – and per product listed it's much cheaper even from the start.
